2010 Healthcare Reform
Beginning with fall 2010 open enrollments, employers can begin to explain certain healthcare benefit changes to their employees as required by the healthcare reform legislation enacted in March, 2010 (the Patient and Affordable Care Act as amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act).
Several requirements of the Act will take effect for plan years starting on or after September 23, 2010. Others will be implemented at a later date. General information on the particulars can be found at the official federal healthcare reform website: www.healthcare.gov.
